"Truly successful decision making relies on a balance between deliberate and instinctive thinking" Malcolm Gladwell, Blink
WELCOME
Q. What is being offered at Think It Through?
A. Clear, decisive new thinking, for individuals, for groups and for meetings.
Q. Who uses Think It Through?
A. Those who want to think more clearly than they ever have before; those who want to break free of limiting thinking; those who want to identify goals, make bold changes and big decisions. Are you...
Then you would benefit from a generative, individual thinking session.
(To find out more about groups and meetings, please go to Making Meetings Matter page)
Q. What is an individual thinking session?
A. 90 minutes of thinking and speaking about whatever is most important to you. To produce some of the clearest thinking you can imagine.
You will think and speak with close attention focused on your ideas, problems and goals. This is thinking time supported by a unique quality of interest and respect that focuses accurately on what is in your mind, generating the answers that you need. Incisive questions are used if your thinking becomes blocked, often releasing new possibilities and dynamic solutions.
Q. Why would anyone want to think aloud for 90 minutes?
A. Because until we speak our thoughts aloud we don't know what we are really thinking, nor what to do about it.Talking about our ideas and problems with friends and colleagues is not like Thinking It Through. Usually nothing changes very much. Why is that? Because our friends and colleagues believe they know us so well they also know what we're going to say, which is why they like to
- interrupt our thoughts
- finish our sentences for us
- not listen to the end of our ideas and
- rarely challenge us usefully
When we repeat our thinking we repeat our actions: we're in a loop.
By using a thinking session where every question is incisive and you follow each idea to its conclusion you identify and remove the blocks to your thoughts, open up new ground and exciting possibilities, and find solutions that really work for you.

'Ruth embodies the principles of a Thinking Environment, authentically, consistently. She creates the perfect balance between listening and asking. She generates clear, original, decisive thinking in people. Her warmth and her rigour, her skill and her presence are extraordinary.
It is no wonder human lives bloom around her. '
